TSXM – GREAT BAY- After three tantalizing sequences, Carine Page secured a total of 636 points and was awarded the top prize of a spanking new Hyundai Elantra when the curtains went down on the 5th annual Miss Sunset Bar & Grill Bikini Contest during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Virginie Matthew, occupied the number two spot with 613 points and won $ 500 and the third place was Phausha Winklaar, with 596 points and won $200 for her efforts. Once again, the Sunset Bar & Grill was filled to capacity for the final shown involving nine attractive young ladies representing both sides of the island.
Between segments, there was the usual side attraction, a hotdog eating contest for ladies only, which there was never a dull moment during this competition, the eventual winner was suitably rewarded.
There was also a jello pudding eating contest for men and a couple’s dance off competition. Among the prizes were cell phones, compliments of TelCell, and alcoholic beverages in goody bags. In the second segment, the ladies all wore bikinis, but they also had to know how to walk with a bottle of Chivas Regal while posing for the cameras.
In the final segment, creativity, stage confidence, fitness and the ability to captivate the audience was important. Page, who was first on stage, was able to set a very high standard when she used her dancing experiences to the fullest advantage.
After the official announcement, Page wasted no time to collect the keys for the car from Tarique Amjad, Director at Motorworld before a final pose off on a motorbike, much to the delight of supporters friends.
